Partners for Pediatric Vision

Providing critical vision education and support services for families of children with visual impairment

From sitting in on eye exams to providing emotional support, family events, and accommodations for vision loss, Partners for Pediatric Vision provides consistent support services for children who are visually impaired from birth through early adulthood, all free-of-charge.

Mission & Vision

The mission of Partners for Pediatric Vision is to turn possibilities into achievements for children with visual impairment and their families.

We envision a world where all children with visual impairment have equal access to the healthcare, education, and support they need to be successful in life.

Services

Our Programs

We offer free education and support for families of children from birth to age 18.

Our programs include Early Childhood
(ages 0-5), Youth Development (ages 6-13), and Teens in Transition (ages 14-18).

Teaming up with Eye Doctors

Our partner pediatric eye doctors specialize in diagnosing visual impairments and determining whether glasses, surgery, or other aids can help. During the exam, our Child & Family Vision Specialists provide suggestions and demonstrate activities that help children with learning accommodations.

"PPV has given us a safe space to confide with others as parents of blind/visually impaired children. You have been the best resource for getting Jett what he needs and being there for us as well. We love PPV."

"From birth, our daughter was given a very poor prognosis. At 7 months old, she was given less than 3 months to live.  Despite the challenges she faced, Partners for Pediatric Vision saw a different outcome for her. From help with her development and education, to vision intervention and eye exams, Partners for Pediatric Vision showed our daughter and family a way to improve the quality of our life. By the time she was 2-and-a-half, our daughter came off hospice, saw colors, and could reach and grab for objects. Since then, Partners for Pediatric Vision continues to be a resource for Karena's evolving needs. She uses assistive technologies, a walking cane, glasses for the various fluctuations in her sight, has a comprehensive plan in her IEP, is assigned a teacher for the visually impaired and attends as many social activities as she can. None of this would be possible if it were not for the personal and professional relationships fostered by Partners for Pediatric Vision."

"Partners for Pediatric Vision has been an incredibly helpful resource for our family. Everyone is so kind and they have connected us with the care our twin sons need. Both of our sons have ROP and thanks to PPV, one of them has already been to the developmental optometrist and gotten glasses. His glasses have totally changed his outlook and it has been so sweet to watch him take in the world with more clarity."

Rachel, Calum & Cade's Mother
