Our History
Partners for Pediatric Vision was founded by Tori Schladen in 2016.

The foundation of our core model program dates back to 1999. It was then that Tori, along with Pediatric Low Vision pioneer and advocate, Dr. Bill Takeshita, established the unique model of Family Specialist and Eye Doctor Collaboration. In 2016, after the closure of the Center for The Partially Sighted (CPS), Partners for Pediatric Vision (PPV) was founded under the fiscal sponsorship of Community Partners to continue this unique model of care. In 2023, we transitioned from fiscal sponsorship and became our own independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Today, our dedicated team continues to build partnerships across Southern California, serving Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties. Our Child & Family Vision Specialists are matched with families of children who are visually impaired, from birth to 18, to provide vision education and support services that remove barriers and help children on their path to success and independence.
